__II the sense of smell, ={ὄσφρησις}, Democritus Epigrammaticus 11, 5th c.AD(?): Hesychius Legal icographus —The older form ὀδμή (compare ὄδωδα, ὄζ-ω, od-or) is alone used by Homerus Epicus, Herodotus Historicus, and Pindarus Lyricus ; it occurs also in Aeschylus Tragicus “Prometheus Vinctus” 115 (Lyric poetry), Democritus Epigrammaticus same place, and in later Prose, Theophrastus Philosophus “de Causis Plantarum” 6.14.1, al., Phylarchus Historicus 63 Josephus Historicus, Diocl.fragment 129, Anonymus Londinensis 34.38, etc. ; but ὀσμή is Attic dialect accusative to Phrynichus Atticista 71 ; also Ionic dialect, Hippon.in “PSI” 9.1089.11.
