Avishag is her name. It either means "father of [an] error" or "my
father is [an] error"! Assuming esential historicity for the
narrative, I wonder if her father or mother named Avishag. My guess
from the meaning of the name is the latter...which begs the
question: Where was dear ole dad when his baby girl received her
name. Since the Jezreel valley was/is the main east-west/west-east
thoroughfare for the lower Galilee region, and the invading
Philipistine armies had made their way up to that area, and Avishag
is such an interesting name, it just sets my imagination working...
