Tijdschrift , The Bible Translator, 51/2 (2000):232-239, Koops, Robert G. "Flora in Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther." When dealing with terms for flora, translators can "domesticate" the term by using a related species, a descriptive phrase or a generic term; they can substitute a cultural equivalent. Alternatively, the translator can "foreignize" the term by transliterating and adding a classifier. Specific examples of flora and items associated with them (such as cereal offerings, wine presses and cotton fabric) are from Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther.
